GTN-H Panel Meeting at ICRWGC
Date: September 25–27, 2019
Venue: ICWRGC, Koblenz
The Global Terrestrial Network – Hydrology (GTN-H) is a federated network of major global data centres, linking water-related observations for integrated observations of the global water cycle. Data and information provided by global data centres continue to be essential sources of information, both for UN programmes as well as regional and national programmes in the water sector. They provide strong support to research and water resources management. During the 18th WMO Congress, the significance of the existing global water data centres and GTN-H as their coordinating mechanism was highlighted. They serve as fundamental pillars to support the GCOS Implementation Plan and WMO’s activities in hydrological data operations and management.
The GTN-H Panel will be hosted by ICWRGC from September 25–27. Here, representatives from the member networks WMO, GCOS and GEO will meet to discuss
- contributions to Essential Climate Variables and Essential Water Variables
- the strategy of data exchange (needs, gaps, opportunities)
- the development and dissemination of integrated data products (both case studies and operational products)
