Step-by-step monitoring methodology for indicator 6.3.2 on ambient water quality – 2016

Vital for people, planet and prosperity, water and sanitation are in the focus of the new Sustainable Development Goal on water and sanitation (SDG 6) of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Based on the global indicator framework developed by the country-led Interagency and Expert Group on Sustainable Development Goal Indicators (IAEGSDGs), the Integrated Monitoring Guide assists national governments in monitoring progress towards SDG 6. Contributing to the global ambition of target 6.3 to “improve water quality” by 2030, indicator 6.3.2 provides a step-by-step methodology to monitor and improve the ambient water quality of inland waterbodies.
